From Kingspan Benchmark:
Benchmark has landed a very nice project for Cleveland Clinic with Harmon, Inc. This project, “Hillcrest Hospital Expansion” located in Mayfield Heights, Ohio consists of approximately 60,000 sf of 2” thick and 3” thick Designwall 2000 in both flat and ribbed profile. This will be a very high profile project with Westlake Reed Leskosky as the architect. The first shipment of panels is scheduled for next month and the project will extend throughout this year. It should be completed by next spring with regard to the metal panels. Ribbed profile Designwall 2000R will be roll-formed at Morin East and laminated at our manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ohio. Engineering, sales, and customer service all fought the competition very hard on this one - we were victorious in the end with award of the contract.
Mr. Minn Thein, P.E. has just accepted our offer for a key position in the engineering department. Minn graduated from Penn State University in 1994 with a B.S. degree in architectural engineering. He now has a professional engineering license in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Virginia, and Maryland along with NCEES certification. Combined with our additional licenses in Ohio and Massachusetts, we will now carry engineering stamps in six states. Minn is very excited about the panel industry and about coming on-board with us next week. We look forward to expanding our engineering capacity with his services.
From Kingspan Insulated Panels in Deland, FL:
New Products – Kingspan Insulated Panels: It goes without saying that the world is currently suffering though the worst economic crisis in recent memory. As we are all aware, Kingspan Insulated Panels has not been immune to these effects. For a company to successfully weather-the-storm given today’s business climate, it is critical that it offers products and services that set it apart from its competitors. Kingspan Insulated Panels is facing these uncertain times with the development of several exciting new products and services to be introduced this year.
The 500 Series Insulated Panel: This summer Kingspan Deland will introduce an all new panel that combines an appealing, deep box-rib profile with a new joint design that provides greater application options and improved structural performance. The panel will be initially offered with a standard 36” module width available in 2”, 3”, or 4” thicknesses. The 500 series mimics Morin’s X-36 “Integrity” series. This new panel combines an aggressive, architectural look with the energy efficiency of a traditional composite insulated panel. The new joint is specifically designed to allow both horizontal and vertical installation which, coupled with a series of custom-designed extruded aluminum flashing profiles, provides a complete system and a premium addition to the Kingspan catalog of building products.
1000 Series “Kingzip” Standing Seam Roof Panel: The commercial/industrial team has determined a huge potential market for the 1000 series “Kingzip” standing seam roofing panel. Last year’s product introduction from the Kingspan Deland manufacturing facility was so successful that, this spring, Kingspan will expand manufacture of this product to Modesto, California. This will provide our west-coast customers with better delivery options and improved value (with significant reduction in freight costs).
The Kingspan “Powerpanel” Photovoltaic Roofing System: Green technology and alternative energy sources have become key considerations in today’s design and construction of the buildings of tomorrow. Recognizing this, Kingspan will introduce the “Powerpanel” roofing system. This system will combine a powerful photovoltaic power plant with the superior energy efficiency of a highly insulated “Kingzip” roof panel. The product introduction, coupled with new design and engineering services, will provide our customers with a superior roofing system that is architecturally integrated with the design of their building. The “Powerpanel” roofing system (and other complimentary products that will follow) will help establish Kingspan’s commitment to the environment and the future needs of our industry.
The ASSI Interlocking Insulated Wall and Roof system: In cooperation with Advanced Shelters Solutions, Inc., Kingspan Deland has developed and will begin production of a unique OEM panel product designed specifically for the modular building industry. Combining a custom panel profile that rigidly “locks” onto a series of specially designed structural beams, the new system provides licensed manufacturers with a structurally superior means of wall and roof production with significantly reduced assembly time. Additionally, the new panel profile includes a central recess that provides designers with options for routing electrical, plumbing, and other components inside of the wall.
Challenging times require bold and innovative solutions. Kingspan Insulated Panels is committed to meeting these challenges today and into the future.
